Our Romanian lawyers offer a wide range of legal solutions to local and foreign clients.
Can you help me apply for a visa for Romania?
Our team offers complete assistance during the visa application process, tailored to the purpose of stay and the applicant’s nationality.
The type of visa (and a subsequent residence permit) you apply for depends on your purpose of stay in the country. Our lawyers in Romania can help you apply for:
- An employment residence permit;
- A student/trainee residence permit;
- Family reunification residence permits;
- Residence permits for international investors in Romania;
- Short-term visas suited for medical travel to our country or other activities, such as religious ones.
Can you help me apply for an employment permit?
Yes. A significant part of our work focuses on assisting foreign nationals from any country who want to obtain a work authorization. This is a multi-step process, and it also involves the employer, as presented by our immigration lawyer in Romania:
- First, the employee secures employment with a company in Romania. This can also be the case for intra-company transferees from another European or non-European branch;
- The hiring company submits its portion of the documents to the General Inspectorate for Immigration;
- The foreign national provides relevant documentation, such as your identification documents and other data;
- The parties wait for the Romanian authorities to process and issue your visa;
- The new employee travels to Romania and, as part of the process of settling in and starting your new job, you apply for a temporary residence permit based on employment.
Upon request, we also assist with temporary residence permit renewal submissions.
Can you help me apply for the long-term residence right in Romania?
Yes. As part of our services, we also assist foreign nationals who are ready to apply for this status. To qualify, you must:
- Reside in Romania continuously for the 5 years prior to your application date. During this time, you may leave the country for no more than 6 consecutive months or 10 months in total;
- Have a place to stay in the country (proven by a purchase or rental agreement);
- Provide proof of having paid social health insurance and obtain a criminal record certificate from the authorities;
- Provide proof of sufficient financial means (except for the family members of Romanian citizens).
If you meet all of the criteria above, our team can help you apply for the long-term right of stay. In time, we can also help you with your application for citizenship by naturalization.
What taxes can I expect to pay?
The General Inspectorate for Immigration imposes certain fees for all the submissions made with the institution. Examples include:
- A tax in RON equivalent to 100 EUR (about 500 RON) for a work permit in the case of permanent or cross-border workers.
Can you assist me with legal matters once I am a Romanian resident?
Yes. Our multi-disciplinary team involves immigration lawyers but also attorneys who specialize in other areas of law. We can provide full legal counsel and legal representation in court or in front of the Romanian authorities or the Romanian police in the following cases:
